Since its founding in 2022, the ME/CFS Research Foundation has funded a range of biomedical ME/CFS research projects. The various funding initiatives focus on the areas of biomarker, diagnostics, and therapy development.
The initial focus of the project funding was to support the work of established centres of excellence in ME/CFS research in Germany: the Charité Fatigue Center (CFC) and the Munich Chronic Fatigue Center (MCFC). As part of the “Research Funding Programme 2026”, the Foundation's funding portfolio was expanded to include additional research sites.
